With the headline “A Star Is Born,” the cover offered a glimpse into Jordan’s budding star appeal. For the Air Jordan 1 GS “Sports Illustrated,” the colorway features a black and white leather upper with embroidered Swooshes in green and white stripes with a red border, which reference the uniforms of the Milwaukee Bucks, who Jordan was competing against in the cover photo.
